DanSun Ranch is located five miles outside of the small quaint town of
Arivaca, Arizona and approximately sixty miles southwest of Tucson.
It is operated by partners Danny Stewart and Jane (Sunny) St. John.
Nestled in the high desert, DanSun Ranch is
bordered by Game and Fish and the Coronado National Forest. Being
bordered by state and federal land makes horseback riding a must.
There are miles of trails with a wide variety of terrain from
mountains, hills, meadows, washes and Arivaca Lake. The mild winters of southern
Arizona make for unencumbered year-round riding.
The town of Arivaca hosts numerous businesses, including: a
mercantile, gas station, post office, library, coffee shop, arts and
crafts shops, Sweet Peas Restaurant, and La Gitana Cantina, the oldest
continually operated bar in Arizona. The Arivaca Cienega boardwalk,
conveniently located just outside the townsite, is a destination for
birders from all over the country, offering a great place to view a
wide variety of birdlife, and local flora and fauna, as well as to
take a pleasant and scenic stroll.
The mountains surrounding Arivaca provide spectacular views, including
local legendary Boboquivari Mountain. Nearby Arivaca Lake is a respite
for both water fun and fishing, and if you continue just a little
further down Ruby Rd. you can take a walk through the past at Ruby
Mines, now a privately owned recreation area.
Far from the hubub of city lights, still Arivaca offers its share of
diversion. But if it’s just peace and quiet you desire, there’s
certainly an abundance of that, especially at DanSun Ranch.
